A) Veterinary Medicine
(i) Small Animal Practice: Rendering wide range of services focusing on animal health and well-being, which include providing clinical services and conducting research as follows,
Clinical services: Diagnosis and treatment of animal diseases and disorders, implementing treatment plans.
Otoscopic examination: We have developed an advanced otoscopic examination protocol for all the ear-related diseases of pet animals like Vestibular diseases.
Ophthalmoscopic examination: Conducting advanced ophthalmoscopic examinations in conditions such as Uveitis, conjunctivitis, retinitis, blindness, cataract, and scleral hemorrhages and performing all eye surgeries.
Blood transfusion: In emergency critical care conditions, severe anemic conditions, hemoprotozoal diseases, chronic kidney diseases (Renal anemia), etc doing blood transfusions for pet and small ruminants.
Emergency Critical care unit comprising Oxygen therapy: The animals suffering from hypoxia due to respiratory disorders, anemic hypoxia in hemoprotozoal diseases, stagnant hypoxia in congestive heart failure cases, and emergency cases are being treated with oxygen therapy.
Advanced dermatological examination: The animals suffering from recurrent dermatitis were being diagnosed by using skin scraping, lactophenol cotton blue stain, tape impression smear and fine needle aspiration cytology
Nebulization: Animals suffering from respiratory distress, allergic and infectious rhinitis are treated by using nebulization.
Electro Cardio Graph (ECG) of both canines and felines to know the abnormal electrical conductivity of the heart
Ultrasound Scanning and USG guided sample collection: USG is being practicing in small animals to diagnose disease conditions like ascites, mesothelioma, hepatocellular carcinoma, cystitis, transitional cell carcinoma, prostate hyperplasia, neoplasms in the abdominal cavity, pleural effusion, and pericardial effusions and also Pregnancy diagnosis in Large animals.
(ii) Large Animal Practice
- Apart from the treatment of routine Infectious, Non-Infectious and Metabolic diseases of large animals Metabolic profile testing of milch animals are being done.
- Treating of Downers cows / Buffaloes syndromes are being taken up in a modified manner
- B) Veterinary Surgery
- Radiograph (X-Ray) facility for both small and large animals is in active mode.
- Minor surgeries like dog bite sutures and major surgeries like aural haematoma, Ovariohystrectomy, castration, resection of different types of tumors, amputation of tail, horns and legs, fracture cases both in small and large ruminants, intra medullary pinning and other orthopedic surgeriee are being done daily.
- Sophesticated eye surgeries are being taken up by the highly qualified eye surgeon.
- Cesarean surgeries in Complicated deliveries of both small and large animals
- Emergency surgical conditions like Accident cases, Umbilical Hernia, Evisceration of intestines in calves, Atresia ani, Ruminal Asidosis, Dystocia in small and large animals is being taken up.
C) Veterinary Gynaecology: Following conditions of canines, felines, equines and bovines are under practice
- Pregnancy diagnosis
- Dystocia
- Retension of placenta
- Artificial Insemination
- Prolapse of genital organs
- Abortion cases
- Uterine torsions
- Treatment of anoestrum, Trans vaginal tumors, metritis, infertility cases etc.
D) Veterinary Laboratory Diagnostics: All the tests are being done at reasonable prices
- Faecal smear examination for parasitic ova and other probable abnormal findings
- Skin scrapping examination for the presence of mites, fungal spores and other abnormalitis
- Blood smear examination for haemoprotozoans
- Complete blood analysis,
- Serum biochemistry including Kidney function tests, liver function tests and electrolytes
- Vagila cytology examination for estous detection and other abnormal findings
- Urine Analysis
- Antibiotic Sensitivity Test (ABST)
- Facility of Rapid testing by using ‘Snap test kits’ for the diagnosis of Canine diseases – Canine Parvo viral infection, Canine Distemper, Rabies, Leptospirosis, canine preganancy, haemoprotozoans detection kit (Anaplasmosis, Babesia & Ehrlichiosis) Feline diseases – Feline Pan Leukopenia.
E) Clinical Training activities
- Practical Training is imparted for internees for 6 months
- Clinical training for BVSc & AH Students of Fourth Professional year students under the course VCP- II (0+6) and also Third Professional Year students attends the clinics once in a week.
- Training Veterinary Doctors during their induction training by Animal Husbandry Department
- Training to VH Polytechnic students during their practical training.
F) Extension activities
- Attending Health Camps at adopted village Venkatapur and also in and around villages of Warangal
- Livestock & farming advice is given to farmers whenever they approach
G) Research and Development: Developing new diagnostic tools for investigating the cause, prevention and treatment of animal diseases.
