The College of Dairy Technology, Kamareddy has evolved into a specialized center of excellence for dairy science education and training in Telangana. The B.Tech (Dairy Technology) course was originally offered at the Government Arts and Science College, Kamareddy, affiliated with Osmania University, Hyderabad. On 1st September 2007, the program was transferred to Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University (SVVU), Tirupati, and a dedicated College of Dairy Technology was established. Following the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh and the formation of Telangana State, the Government of Telangana established P.V. Narasimha Rao Telangana Veterinary University (PVNRTVU) on 22nd November 2014. The College has since been functioning under PVNRTVU and continues to contribute significantly to the dairy sector in the region. The college is situated on a 60-acre campus in Kamareddy and offers a four-year B.Tech (Dairy Technology) program designed in accordance with the guidelines of the V Deans’ Committee of ICAR. The curriculum is structured around five major disciplines, each managed by its respective department.
