Animal husbandry Polytechnic, Mamoor was started during the year, 2010, as per G.O. Ms. No.2A HDD&F (AH. II) Department, dt. 22-01-2010 by issuing administrative sanction accorded by the Government of Andhra Pradesh and is one of the constituent institutions of P.V.Narsimha Rao Telangana Veterinary University. The Board of Management of Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University has accorded permission for admission of Students from the Academic year 2010-11. The Animal Husbandry Polytechnic offers two-year diploma course in Animal Husbandry. The main objective of this Diploma Course is to provide Employment Opportunities to the Rural Youth both in the Government sector like Animal Husbandry Department, Dairy Development Federation and also in private sectors in Dairy farms, Dairy plants, Sheep farms, Poultry farms, Slaughterhouses, Veterinary Pharmaceuticals and Feed Industries.

The admission is offered on the basis of marks obtained in the SSC. Counseling is organized by the University by giving notification after declaration of the 10^th results. The two-year Diploma course is divided into 4 semesters. In the first 3 semesters education is imparted to the students in the college by conducting theory and practical classes. During the last semester the students undergo work experience programme at various Veterinary Institutions of the district.
