MISSION:

The ‘Feed Analytical Laboratory’ was established in June, 2022 under the control of Department of Animal Nutrition, P.V.Narsimha Rao Telangana Veterinary University (PVNRTVU), College of Veterinary Science, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad -30 with an aim to improve the safety and quality of animal/poultry feed and fodder samples through physical, chemical and quality analysis and deliver the results with speed and accuracy. We strive hard to offer best customer services in the livestock and poultry sectors in Telangana state.

ANALYTICAL SERVICES TO MEET THE FARMER/INDUSTRY NEEDS

Traditional Wet Chemistry:

The traditional wet chemistry procedures can be applied to any biological samples. Time prove methods are used to determine nutrient composition. This is the only option for samples where NIRS calibrations do not exist. Most wet chemistry analysis requires 2-3 days to complete.

Near Infrared Reflectance Spectroscopy (NIRS):

The NIRS is used to rapidly analyze multiple components of feed samples simultaneously within 24 hrs. The NIRS could become popular choice among feed industry professionals through our Feed analytical laboratory.

Advanced Services:

Advanced services have been developed in Feed Analytical Laboratory to help to troubleshoot animal performance on farms. Services include estimation of ‘mycotoxins’ in feeds by using advanced Chromatographic Techniques (HPTLC/GC), Determination of various mineral content in feed/other biological samples through Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS) and determination of energy content of feed samples through Bomb Calorimeter etc.
